A Quick Update | Big Things For 2026

A Quick Update | Big Things For 2026

Hello and welcome to this week’s Cowboy Corner—written by me, Connor McCauley.

This one’s a little different.

You may have noticed we’ve been quiet. Fewer newsletters. Fewer YouTube videos. This is the first Cowboy Corner of the new year, and yes—it’s later than I wanted it to be. For those of you who read these regularly, I owe you an apology. I’m sorry for the gap.

Truth is, things slowed down for a bit—not because we lost momentum, but because Helen and I stepped into a brand-new chapter. And I wanted to share that with you.

For Those New Here

If this is your first Cowboy Corner, welcome. Normally, these newsletters tie directly to a YouTube video—stories from the ranch, a look behind the scenes, real work, real people.

If you want the full picture, I’d actually encourage you to check out some of our past newsletters. You can find them right on our website—scroll down the homepage and you’ll see real Texas cowboys at work, our ranch, and the life we live out here.

We’re not a corporation.
We’re not a marketing firm pretending to be ranchers.

We run cattle. We work the land. We run this business ourselves. That still matters, and it always will.Scene out of the next newsletter

Why Things Went Quiet

Our story here goes back to 2021, when Helen and I moved to Texas full-time. We lived in Amarillo while working on the ranch—driving back and forth constantly. If you’ve ever had a commute like that, you know it’s not just the drive. It’s the packing, unpacking, mental load, and exhaustion that comes with it.

That life adds up.

By the time you get home, it’s dark, you’re wiped, and there’s not much left to give. Over time, Helen and I had to ask ourselves a hard question: Is this really how we want to spend our days?

So we made a change.

Moving to the Ranch

We moved out to the ranch full-time.

There was an empty bunkhouse—nothing fancy, built for cowboys to crash after long days. It’s seen a lot of years and a lot of stories. Rough around the edges? Absolutely.

But it’s ours now.

We cleaned it up, moved in, and turned it into a simple, cozy home. There’s a wood stove that keeps us warm. A well-worn Lazy Boy. A guitar and a banjo. Fires at night. Quiet mornings. And more work than ever—but the kind that feels right.

The move itself was intense. Stressful. A lot of hard work layered on top of already full days. But it’s been worth it.

And as I write this, we’ve got a big snowstorm knocking on the door—so yes, there will be stories coming. The stove that keeps us warm

A Personal Note

Since this is a more personal newsletter, I’ll share one more thing: I’ve been training for the Austin Marathon, which is coming up in about three weeks.

Terrible timing, honestly. Moving, ranch work, stress—and marathon training on top of it. But it was already paid for, already committed to, so here we are. I’m aiming for under four hours. Arbitrary? Maybe. But goals matter.

TriTails News for 2026

Now for some business.

We’re proud to share that TriTails is now a sponsor of The Duck Call Room. That partnership puts us alongside people who value faith, family, tradition, and country life—values we actually live, not just talk about.

If you listen to the podcast, you’ll hear us mentioned. If you don’t, check it out. Hunters, outdoorsmen, long beards—this one’s for you. We’re excited about where this partnership could lead.

Duck Call Room Family Table-TriTails Premium Beef, LLCSecond: 2025 was our biggest year ever.

By a long shot.

Here at the start of 2026—normally our slowest season—we’re shipping volumes that used to feel like peak season. That’s because of you. Your trust, your support, your loyalty—it means more than we can put into words.

We’re not just here to sell beef. Email us. Talk to us. About hunting, ranching, cattle, Texas, faith—whatever’s on your mind. Criticism included, if it’s fair and constructive. That’s how we get better.

(If you just want to complain about Texas or tell us you’re vegan… this probably isn’t the place for you.)

Looking Ahead

We expect growth in 2026—TriTails, YouTube, all of it. As I write this, we’re sitting at 515 YouTube subscribers, and that’s just the beginning. More videos are coming, including moving to the ranch and this upcoming snowstorm.

Growth means opportunity—more control, more reach, better storytelling. And yes, even better delivery of what we already believe is some of the best beef out there.

We’re also approaching 1,000 five-star reviews, which still blows my mind. That doesn’t happen by accident.

Bud loves being out at the ranch and is coming to work with me

Thanks for sticking with us. More Cowboy Corners are coming—more stories, more honesty, more ranch life.

Keep an eye out.
